Rory Schmier is a construction professional and ranch manager based in Arboles, Colorado, with a career that spans agriculture, construction, business ownership, and property management. Born in Durango, Colorado, he spent much of his childhood moving with his family throughout the state. His early years included time in Pagosa Springs, where he attended school through the fifth grade before relocating to Monte Vista. There, he completed high school. In 2012, Schmier returned to agriculture by accepting a ranch management position at a premium hay operation near Durango. In this role, he oversees a 300-acre hay production facility and manages planting schedules, irrigation systems, harvesting operations, equipment maintenance, and hay sales. He also supervises the ranch's residential rental properties and coordinates ongoing property maintenance. His combined experience in construction, agriculture, and business management allows him to approach challenges from multiple perspectives and maintain efficient operations.
